TURKISH INDUSTRY CHAMBER LISTS 500 GIANT ORGANIZATIONS IN TURKEY
ISTANBUL (A.A) - 23.07.2008 - A Turkish chamber of industry listed 500 giant industrial organizations in Turkey on Wednesday.
Istanbul Chamber of Industry released a report on 500 giant industrial organizations in Turkey in 2007, and put the Turkish Oil Refineries Corp. (Tupras) at the top of its list.
Tupras topped the list with a net output of 18.4 billion new Turkish liras (YTL) in 2007. (One USD is equal to 1.200 YTL)Ford Otomotiv, an automotive company, came the second in the list with 6.2 billion YTL of net production, and Elektrik Uretim Corp., an electricity generation company, was ranked the third with 4.6 billion YTL.
Tupras was also the biggest industrial company in Turkey in 2006. Its turnover was 18.6 billion YTL then.
Ford Otomotiv was the second (5.6 billion YTL) and Elektrik Uretim (3.9 billion YTL) was again the third in 2006.
In 2005, Tupras was also the leading industrial company of Turkey, and Ford Otomotiv followed it, whereas Elektrik Uretim was ranked the fourth.
