U.S. official meets energy sector representatives in Istanbul

ISTANBUL (A.A) - January 30, 2012 - U.S. Assistant Secretary of Energy David Sandalow met representatives of 18 Turkish energy companies in Istanbul on Monday. Sandalow was briefed about Turkish energy sector's structure and the condition of the energy market. Sandalow told AA that his target in meeting Turkish officials was to exchange information about energy markets in Turkey and the U.S. as well as to develop and sustain working together in this sector. Noting that Turkey and the U.S. were two strong allies, Sandalow said that the two countries were already working together in energy and other sectors. There are facilities for us to work together in energy sector, said Sandalow, adding that the two countries could cooperate in renewable energies and energy productivity.
