Women become major workforce in Thailand

BANGKOK, March 10 (TNA) - Women in their working ages now become a major workforce to cushion the Thai economy and society. The National Statistical Office (NSO) reported on Monday that there were 37.36 million employed people in the Thai economy in January 2015, 16.93 million of whom are female workers. According to the official statistics, out of the total female workforce, about 12.33 million of them worked outside the local farm sector, while the remaining 4.60 million worked in the local agricultural sector. NSO said the official figures showed that Thailand's female workers now become a fundamental workforce to help uphold the national economy and society, while also helping contribute to national progress.
