Education Ministry Gives Financial Assistance to Blast-Affected Students
BANGKOK, June 26 (TNA) – The permanent secretary for education offered financial assistance to students affected by the fire extinguisher blast at Rajavinit Mathayom School in Bangkok.
The school will reopen on June 28 after the blast killed one student during a fire drill on Friday.
Nine others were injured and taken to hospital and 20 more were under observation at the school’s infirmary before going home.
The Public Health Ministry will dispatch psychiatrists to take care of students injured and witnessing the incident when the school reopens on Wednesday.
Atthaphon Saengkhawasee, the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Education said that the ministry expressed condolence to the families of the victims and he wanted to extend moral support to all sides. The lesson from the loss will be used to prevent recurrence of the tragedy.
The school provides students with accident insurance and the family of the dead student will receive about 200,000 baht. Their Majesties the King and Queen accepted the victims under the royal patronage. (TNA)
