15 ASEAN Young Designers Showcase Their Best In KLFWRTW 2016

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 20 (Bernama) -- Fifteen finalists of ASEAN young fashion designers showcased their designs in the final round of the AirAsia Runway Ready Designer Search at the Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week Ready to Wear (KLFWRTW) 2016, here Friday. AirAsia chief executive officer Aireen Omar said the tour to search for new talents had been held in Jakarta, Manila, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Bangkok from last March to June, and aimed to develop young talents in the fashion industry. "AirAsia is proud to bring all participants from five countries to Kuala Lumpur in the final round of the competition. We are very impressed with the quality of their designs which reflect the kind of great talents which can only be found within ASEAN. "Throughout the competition, the participants were given opportunity to learn from numerous distinguished fashion designers and business owners," she said in a statement here Friday. Thailand's Anurak Jaidee was crowned AirAsia's Most Promising Young Designer 2016, a title which comes with the opportunity to exhibit his full collection at next year's KLFWRTW. He would also receive mentoring service from KLFWRTW for a year, fund of US$6,226 (RM25,000) from FashionValet to produce a capsule collection to be sold at fashionvalet.com, 150,000 AirAsia BIG rewards points and a pair of AirAsia return flight tickets. --BERNAMA
