The programme, held in conjunction with the Malaysia's 59th Independence Day celebration on Wednesday, started on Tuesday. The programme at the Perak state museum here involved the participation of 103 students from secondary schools in the Larut, Matang and Selama districts. Taiping Perak Museum director Nor Hamisah Ahmad said the programme was held to enhance the spirit of patriotism among school students. "Through this programme, we get to build love for the country, as well as personality of these young people, who are our future leaders. "It also provides us the opportunity to explain to them the role of museums and teach them to value historical, cultural and natural heritage," he told Bernama. --BERNAMA
