31st Fajr Film Festival Ends In Tehran

Tehran, Feb 11, IRNA -- Fajr Film Festival wrapped up in Tehranˈs Milad Tower Conference Hall on Sunday night. Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Seyyed Mohammad Hoseini, and Hosseiniˈs deputy in charge of cinema affairs at the Ministry of Culture and Guidance Javad Shamaghdari attended the Fajr Film Festivalˈs closing ceremony. Addressing the ceremony, culture minister called the success of premieres of young filmmakers in the 31st Fajr Film Festival as promising for the future of Iranian film producing industry. “31st Fajr Film Festival was much better than its previous festivals both in terms of quality and quantity of films attending the festival,ˈ Hosseini said. The selected filmmakers in the festivalˈs “Realistic Cinema” section, including the Long Documents, Premiers’ Competition and Simorgh (Phoneix) Aspiration were introduced in the closing ceremony. Iran holds the international Fajr film, theater, music, visual arts and poetry festivals every year to mark the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution which is held every February in Tehran. Started in 1982, the festival is under the supervision of the Iranian Ministry of Culture . It takes place every year on the anniversary of the Iranian revolution./end
