Visitors Can Feast Eyes On Unity ASEAN Lantern And Music Show

PUTRAJAYA (Malaysia), Dec 10 (Bernama) -- Visitors can feast their eyes on spectacular giant lanterns lit up with one million light bulbs from ASEAN member nations and dialogue partners at the Unity ASEAN Lantern and Music Show, beginning this Friday.
The inaugural lantern sculptures and cultural music show signified the multi-ethnic and cultural diversity of Malaysia and ASEAN relations, said Country Heights Holding Berhad founder Lee Kim Yew.
Dubbed 'Malaysia's Biggest Light Show', he said this Unity ASEAN Lantern and Music Show was a showcase of giant lanterns, some over five storeys tall, from ASEAN countries including Malaysia, China, South Korea, Japan, Singapore and India.
"It is part of my corporate social responsibility to create a culture of education for the community. This event is to celebrate the solidarity forged after the recently-concluded ASEAN Summit in the country.
"The theme - One Vision, One Identify and One Community - is held close to our hearts. It is my hope that one day, there will be no boundaries among the ASEAN countries, and we can celebrate our uniqueness together in peace and harmony," he said at the launch of the Unity ASEAN Lantern and Music Show Tuesday.
Ruler of Malaysia's Selangor state, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah was the guest of honour.
The Unity ASEAN Lantern and Music Show will display a 12 metre-wide 'Umbrella of Prosperity and Honour' – a symbol of Malaysia’s inclusion into China’s One Belt, One Road policy – and will surely dazzle visitors with its intricate patterns.
Among others were 'Fantasy Golden Arch' at the entrance featuring three horses atop a rotating lotus flower and Singapore's Beautiful Lion City, depicting a colourful fountain.
A guest, Mohan Sivalingam, who was dazzled and amazed with the array of lights could not help praising the 'Umbrella of Prosperity and Honour' lantern display and its intricate patterns underneath the umbrella's roof.
"This is a lifetime opportunity for everyone to come and see for themselves the beautiful lantern and its lights. They are so unique and I am memerised," he said.
The Unity ASEAN Lantern and Music Show will run from Dec 11 to Feb 22 next year at the Mines Wellness City from 7pm to midnight. For details, visit www.unityasean.com (photoBERNAMA)
