“A Thousand Camels” festival approaches

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Bogd soum of Bayankhongor aimag is hosting a festival named “Orogiin Khuren 2015” among its camel herders on November 19-20. In frames of the series of the events to attract tourists to Bayankhongor, the aimag’s Department of Education, Culture and Tourism has planned festivals of one thousand camels and 40 thousand yaks. The Yak festival was held last August in Erdenetsogt soum. Camel festivals have now become an annual event for aimags that raise camel herds. Another event named “Great Camel Festival” will also take place on this November 27-29 in Altai, a center of Govi-Altai aimag, gathering the best camel herders from all western aimags.
