21 Countries Participate In ISfTE Conference Hosted By IUKL
PUTRAJAYA (Malaysia), Nov 21 (Bernama) -- A total of 120 participants from 21 countries attended the International Society for Teacher Education (ISfTE) 2016 Asia Pacific Regional Conference to discuss contemporary and interdisciplinary issues in teachers' education.
Themed 'Global Citizenship Education', the two-day conference which began Monday are participated by educators, teachers, researchers, academics, scholars and policy makers from United Arab Emirates, Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, South Africa and United States, among others.
This is the first time such an annual conference is held in Malaysia and it is hosted by the Infrastructure University Kuala Lumpur (IUKL)'s Department of Education, Faculty of Arts, Communication and Education.
IUKL Board of Governors chairman, Dr Hadenan Abdul Jalil in his officiating address, said the theme chosen for the conference this time was relevant as the world has moved to be a borderless collection of countries and states.
"Education given to citizens in future will indeed be global in nature so that students going through the education process will be able to interact and survive in the international environment," he said.
