3rd Training Course For Nastaliq Writing Opens In Tunis

Algiers, Oct 14, IRNA – The third training course for Nastaliq writing started in Tunis by Iran cultural attaché office. Iran's Cultural Attache in Tunis Sadeq Ramedani Golafzani said in the inauguration ceremony that art is a way to get close to almighty God and the holy Quran has been written in beautiful handwriting of Nastaliq, which is a Persian style of writing used in lithography. He added that the course is in direction of joint cultural cooperation between the two countries. In the ceremony, a master in calligraphy Geilani al-Gharbi delivered a speech and underlined necessity of accuracy for working in this style of writing. Another speaker in the ceremony was Abdulnaser al-Khanisi, author of book “ Relations between Art and Islam”, who said separation between art and religion is not possible at all. In the exhibition, some works were on display in the venue of ceremony./end
