Al-Kadhimi Receives The Iranian Vice President And His Accompanying Delegation

Baghdad / NINA / - Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, received the Iranian Vice President, head of the Iranian Environmental Protection Organization, Ali Seljuk, and his accompanying delegation, and discussed with him cooperation with Iran and countries in the region to face environmental challenges.b Al-Kadhimi's media office said in a statement received by NINA, "The meeting discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation between Iraq, Iran and the rest of the region's countries in the field of confronting environmental challenges, in a manner that guarantees the rights and common interests of all countries with justice." Al-Kadhimi stressed, according to the statement, that "the historical relations between the two neighboring countries are supported by the mutual desire to develop cooperation in various fields, and that strengthening the partnership with the countries of the region will support regional integration and enhance the ability to confront common challenges, foremost of which are environmental challenges." He pointed out that "the responsibility for developing effective solutions to environmental challenges and repelling the effects of climate change has become everyone's responsibility." For his part, Iranian Vice President expressed "the Islamic Republic of Iran's desire to resolve outstanding issues between the two countries in the environmental field," stressing "the need to strengthen bilateral cooperation in this field."
