Al-Raya Praises Qatar's Efforts, its Professional Handling of Covid-19 Crisis

Doha, August 12 (QNA) - In its editorial Thursday, Al-Raya newspaper praised the efforts of the State of Qatar to deal professionally with the Covid-19 crisis, as it is rapidly vaccinating members of society against the virus. In this regard, the newspaper referred to the Cabinet's announcement yesterday of an honorable achievement of the national vaccination campaign as the total of vaccine doses that have been used to vaccinate the population exceeded 4 million doses, and its affirmation of the continuation of work with the procedures and precautionary measures that have been taken in order to combat this pandemic. The State of Qatar, which is implementing the largest national vaccination campaign through a well-defined plan and specific stages, is close to achieve the goal of vaccinating all those eligible to get vaccine, the paper said. Qatar has focused on vaccinating most at-risk populations, such as the elderly, those with severe chronic conditions, healthcare cadres, frontline workers and other essential workers, the paper said, adding that the vaccination campaign then expanded to include the rest of society, and those aged 12 and above. Exceeding 4 million doses of vaccine gives hope that things will soon return to normal, especially since studies and data have proven that whoever receives the vaccine gets immunized against the disease or its most deadly symptoms, the newspaper added. In conclusion, Al-Raya praised the government agencies that dealt with Covid-19 crisis from the beginning with all seriousness and professionalism, and said that epidemiological indicators in Qatar are promising and support the further lifting of restrictions without complacency in preventive measures.
