In conclusion, Al-Watan emphasised that the State of Qatar always stands with brotherly and friendly countries in various circumstances, and will continue to assist and support all those in need. For its part, Al-Sharq newspaper said in its editorial on Thursday that during the adversity caused by climate change, there is a greater need to demonstrate international solidarity and promote joint action to face this challenge, and the State of Qatar spared no effort to provide help for the affected countries. In this context, the paper highlighted the phone call held yesterday by HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani with HE President of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria Abdelmadjid Tebboune, during which His Highness expressed his condolences to His Excellency and the Algerian people for the victims of wildfires that broke out in a number of Algerian provinces, adding that His Highness also expressed the State of Qatar's support to Algeria during the crisis, saying that the country is ready to provide the necessary support to combat the wildfires and address their impact. The paper pointed out the recent reports of these days, which reveal more about the danger of climate change, explaining that at least 65 people died in the wildfires in Algeria - which happened to be the worst destructive wave of fires in the country's history. In Tunisia, Turkey and Greece, wildfires also continue, after the Mediterranean region became one of the centers of wildfires due to the increased temperature, resulting in heavy casualties and material losses, the paper added.
