Al-Watan Denounces Continued Israeli Practices to Judaize Jerusalem

Doha, August 24 (QNA) - Al-Watan denounced on Tuesday the continuation of Israeli practices that fall within the framework of a colonial Judaization scheme to change the features of the city of Jerusalem and what is inside it, displace its citizens, and completely separate it from its Palestinian surroundings and link it to the Israeli depth. In this context, the newspaper denounced the incursions by a group of extremist settlers into the courtyards of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque from the side of the Mughrabi Gate, and their implementation of provocative and suspicious tours, under heavy protection from the Israeli occupation police, coinciding with the 52nd anniversary of the burning of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque. For more than 50 years, Israel has been working tirelessly to erase Al-Aqsa from the minds of Arabs and Muslims, the paper said. Al-Watan warned that the targeting of Christian and Islamic sanctities in Jerusalem, and the crimes committed by the occupation against the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and its surroundings, including the deliberate burning of Al-Aqsa, the changing of its existing historical and legal status before the occupation, falsifying its landmarks with excavations, planting landmarks and forcibly inserting them into the ground in favor of the Israeli occupation narrative. In conclusion, the newspaper expressed its regret for the inability of the international community to provide protection for religious and holy sites in the occupied city of Jerusalem, and for standing as a silent witness to Israel's violation of international resolutions, calling on the Arab and Islamic worlds and the international community, led by the Security Council and UNESCO, to quickly implement the decisions of the Arab and Islamic summits and the UN resolutions related to Jerusalem and its sanctities, on the point that there is no peace or stability in the region without the liberation of Jerusalem, the establishment of the free and independent state of Palestine and the return of refugees.
