Art exhibition in honour of late King

PHISANULOK, Nov 5 (TNA) - Twenty Thai artists in the North hold an art exhibition in honour of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej. Over 150 pieces of paintings have been brought to display at the exhibition, which is held at the Naresuan University’s Art Museum in Phitsanulok. The exhibition is organised by the university and Phitsanulok Provincial Administration Office. The works were produced by a local artist group called “Art in Soi”. More than one-third of the paintings depict different emotions of the late monarch who is known to possess multiple talents, from arts, music, photography, science, geography, languages, and philosophy. Vidhaya Radkum, an artist, said King Bhumibol was very talented in various occupational skills, especially arts. His beautiful art works have inspired Thai artists across the country, especially himself, he said, adding that he would try to organise another exhibition of the king’s art works over the next year. Group chairman Mr Mana Kwangsue said group members all shared their immense loss of the late king who was a great inspiration for them. “Before I start drawing, I usually think of him first. Then my creativity would be flowing boundlessly,” said Mr Mana. The exhibition is free for the public and is open until the end of November 2016. (TNA)
