Bahrain backs GCC efforts to upgrade social development

Manama, Jan. 8 (BNA): Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel Humaidan today received the Honorary President of the Gulf Society for Disabled Persons, Shaikh Duaij bin Khalifa Al Khalifa. Mona Al Mansoury, the Society's chairperson and the society's board members also were present during the meeting wherein they discussed issues regarding the upgrading of the quality of services provided to the category of differently abled persons in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, to ensure their inclusion in the community and benefit from their energies and potentials. They also reviewed latest activities and programmes to be implemented by the society in the upcoming period in the member states. The society extended invitation the minister to attend its 17th gathering to be organised in cooperation with the Kuwaiti Society for Parents of Disabled Persons and the Kuwait's Ministry of Social Affairs. In conclusion of their meeting, the society granted its Honorary Membership to the minister in appreciation of the minister's efforts in caring for disabled persons and his diligence on removal of all obstacles facing this category.
