Bahrain Health Regulatory Conference kicks off

Manama, Sept. 29 (BNA): Minister of Health Dr. Jalila bint Sayed Jawad Hassan has emphasized the significance of organizing and hosting medical conferences in the Kingdom of Bahrain and exchanging expertise with specialists from across the world. She pointed out the role of those conferences in enriching the medical knowledge and capabilities and providing a supportive environment to the national competencies to find the best innovative solutions and promote the effectiveness and sustainability of the health system. The minister was speaking as she inaugurated today the second edition of the Bahrain Health Regulatory Conference and Exhibition which is organized by the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) under the patronage of President of the Supreme Council of Health (SCH) Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa. The event was attended by NHRA Chief Executive Dr. Meriam Adhbi Al-Jalahma, officials from the Ministry of Health and the health sector, the competent associations and representatives from the GCC member states. The conference also witnessed large participation of professionals, companies and importers of medicines and medical equipment. The Minister of Health asserted the importance of the conference in supporting the health and medical sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain and optimize services provided for citizens and residents. She also pointed out its contribution to exchanging the best regional and international experiences in this sector by exploring the visions of the participants. For her part, Dr. Meriam Adhbi Al-Jalahma said the conference, which is organized under the theme "Safe and High Quality Health Services", casts light on many issues, including licensing health care facilities, activating the "Munshaat" and "Mehan" initiatives, regulating and monitoring medical devices and pharmaceuticals, and granting and renewing accreditation for hospitals and medical centers and developing regulations and legislation. It is worth noting that the conference, which will continue for three days, aims to enhance communication between all health practitioners and those interested in providing health care, services, medical products, pharmaceutical products, health care institutions, patient safety, medical trainers and accreditation experts from the region and the world. The conference serves as a platform for exchanging views between all practitioners in the healthcare and medical services sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Arabian Gulf countries regarding topics related to the health sector. The conference also includes roundtable meetings with suppliers of medical devices and medicines to discuss the latest updates on procedures and regulations.
