Bahrain-India cooperation highlighted

Manama, Jan. 15 (BNA): Labour and Social Development Minister and President of Labour Market Regulatory Authority, Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, today received India's Minister of State for External Affairs, Dr. Vijay Kumar Singh in the presence of the Indian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Alok Kumar Sinha. Humaidan affirmed Bahrain's keenness on bolstering the current cooperation ties to attain vaster horizons, citing the advanced level of these ties in various fields, primarily in the areas of labour and social protection, investment in human resources and the financial sector. He also stressed the Kingdom's constant desire to boost the cooperation with India in the field of expat workers protection in accordance with international labour standards. The Indian ambassador commended the advanced level of bilateral ties, valuing the Bahraini government and people for protecting and caring for Indian community and workers, noting the Kingdom's initiatives to improve labour regulations and legislations to ensure the achievement of equality and prevent any discrimination on the job. He affirmed his country's continuously seeking to boost these historic bilateral ties to achieve the shared interests of both countries.
