Bahrain-IPI cooperation discussed

Manama, Jan. 11 (BNA): On behalf of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Deputy Premier, HH Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, received here today the President of the International Peace Institute (IPI), Terje Rod-Larsen, and discussed with him ways to enhance cooperation between Bahrain and IPI to promote peace and stability across the region. The deputy premier lauded the efforts of IPI to deepen awareness on issues of security and peace at the global level through research and intellectual contributions aimed at achieving international stability and security. Under its leadership, the Kingdom of Bahrain backs all parties and institutions that adopt peace as a noble human value and seek to achieve it, being an essential pre-requisite for societies and peoples to achieve further development and modernisation, HH Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa said. The deputy premier praised the level of the existing cooperation between Bahrain and the IPI through the conference and forums organised by the IPI, affirming the kingdom's keenness on consolidating such cooperation at all levels. Terje Rod-Larsen expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to the kingdom for its cooperation with IPI, as well as for the efforts it is exerting for the sake of promoting peace and stability across the region and the world. He asserted IPI's interest in developing cooperation with the relevant centres and parties in the kingdom.
