Bahrain participates in 30th anniversary of Declaration on Rights of Persons Belonging to National or Ethnic, Religious and Linguistic Minorities

Manama, Sept. 22 (BNA): Bahrain participated in a high-level meeting marking the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration on the Rights of Persons Belonging to National or Ethnic, Religious and Linguistic Minorities. The Bahraini delegation was headed by ambassador Shaikha Aysha bint Ahmed Al Khalifa from the Kingdom’s permanent mission in New York. In her speech, Shaikha Aysha expressed the Kingdom’s appreciation of the United Nations' role in supporting all countries to achieve sustainable development goals. She commended its role in the protection and promotion of human rights. She highlighted Bahrain’s achievements under the comprehensive development approach of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in the fields of religious freedoms, tolerance and coexistence. She noted the programs and initiatives of the Kingdom in that regard.
