Bahraini-Irish academic cooperation discussed

Manama, Oct. 5 (BNA): Secretary-General of the Higher Education Council (HEC), Deputy Chairperson of HEC Board of Trustees, Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Duaij Al Khalifa, Higher Education Authority (HEA)'s Board of Directors Chairman, Michael Horgan, and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Alan Wall. HEA Chairman and CEO welcomed the meeting with Dr. Shaikha Rana, expressing hope that the meeting would yield positive results that would benefit the academic field in the two countries. The two sides discussed the most prominent developments witnessed by the higher education sector, and reviewed the achievements of academic institutions in Bahrain and Ireland. They also discussed future cooperation and ways to open up broader horizons for exchanging experiences. HEC Secretary-General stressed the need to enhance cooperation with various countries in academic fields, especially those with advanced experiences in education, in order to transfer successful practices to the kingdom and highlight Bahrain's efforts in the field of higher education. She expressed thanks and appreciation to HEA Board Chairman and CEO for their cooperation and readiness to enhance joint cooperation.
