Bahraini-Russian cultural cooperation discussed

Manama, Feb. 19 (BNA): President of Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa received today Russian Ambassador to Bahrain Vagif Garaev. They discussed bilateral cooperation in the cultural field, stressing the importance of culture in achieving rapprochement between peoples and promoting the culture of peace. Shaikha Mai briefed the Russian ambassador about BACA's activities this year, pointing out joint cultural and artistic accomplishments and projects. She also hailed the inauguration of the art gallery of Russian artist Nikas Safronov at the Four Seasons Hotel under the patronage of Personal Representative of His Majesty the King Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa. The Russian ambassador praised Bahrain's cultural achievements, thanking BACA President for organising the Russian Films Days throughout this year at Bahrain National Museum and Arad Fort.
