Bangkok hosts One Young World 2015

BANGKOK, Nov 18 (TNA) -- The international One Young World 2015 summit was opened at the Siam Paragon shopping centre, Bangkok, on Nov 18 and about 1,300 young leaders from 196 countries were discussing global problems.
Bangkok governor Sukhumbhand Paribatra said it was the first One Young World summit in Asia and proved to be another step of Thailand being the centre of international cooperation.
As participants were discussing urgent global problems, the governor said he hoped the meeting would lead to great efforts to effectively solve them.
Kate Robertson, a co-founder of the One Young World summit, said Bangkok was selected as the venue for the 6th session of One Young World because it showed the harmonious co-existence of people with various races, religions and cultures and Thailand was the most outstanding for social contribution activities in the region.
This One Young World summit was set from Nov 18 to 21. Its discussions cover education, environment, global businesses, human rights, leadership and administration, and peace and safety. Also present in the summit were world-renowned leaders including former United Nations secretary-general Kofi Anan, Sir Bob Geldof, Muhammad Yunus and Paul Polman. (TNA)
