BRICS university forum to be held in Moscow in October

MOSCOW, May 19. /TASS/. The global BRICS university forum is likely to be held in October at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) affiliated to the Russian Foreign Ministry, co-chair for the Civil BRICS process Victoria Panova told a news conference on Tuesday.
"The global university forum will presumably be held in October," Panova said, adding that it would take place at the premises of MGIMO.
Meanwhile, coordinator of the BRICS working group on education Yury Dubinin has described as very interesting the idea to set up the BRICS University League. "It would be helpful for us to ensure cooperation in this new area," the expert said. He noted that this work "was conducted, first and foremost, for our younger generation." "The leaders must ensure favorable conditions for youth communication to make contacts permanent," Dubinin said.
Speaking about the problems of education and science, which are the new areas of discussion within BRICS, the coordinator said that "it would be appropriate and feasible to develop some commonly agreed criteria of education sufficiency." "In particular, I would be interesting to promote our inter-cultural and inter-civilizational communication, since the BRICS countries represent not only 5 different continent but also different civilizations," Dubinin added. "So far, we don’t know very much about each other".
