Culture Ministry gives green light to “Ceasefire

TEHRAN,Nov.9(MNA) -- Iran’s Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance has granted a production license to “Ceasefire 2”, a sequel to director Tahmineh Milani’s box office hit “Ceasefire” in 2006, the Culture Ministry announced on Thursday. Milani said on Wednesday that the shooting of the film will commence as soon as her project can obtain a license from the Culture Ministry. Milani wrote and directed “Ceasefire” based on American writer and art therapist Lucia Capacchione’s “Recovery of Your Inner Child”. The film is about the story of a young couple who is seeking a divorce, but end up realizing that they just need to face their inner child to overcome their problems. Starring Mohammadreza Golzar and Mahnaz Afshar, the film broke box office records in Iran in 2006. No storyline has been announced for “Ceasefire 2” as yet. However, Milani said that for her new film, she prefers to work with the same cast and crew she worked with for “Ceasefire”. “By making this film (‘Ceasefire 2’), we can help couples feel closer together and assist them to decrease tensions in their families especially those who want to have children,” she stated. “Ceasefire 2” will be produced by Milani’s spouse. Mohammad Nikbin. A screenplay must be approved by the Culture Ministry to obtain a production license in Iran. In addition, producers must apply for a screening license from the ministry for the premiere of their films.
