Deputy Premier receives IPI President

Manama, Jan. 11 (BNA): Deputy Premier, HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, received at the Gudaibiya Palace today the President of the International Peace Institute (IPI), Terje Rod-Larsen, and IPI's Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Regional Office Director, Nejib Friji. The deputy premier reviewed with Terje Rod-Larsen IPI's programmes in Bahrain and the region, in light of the current developments in the region and the world. In this regard, HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak affirmed the importance of the pivotal role played by IPI in consolidating and promoting the culture of peace and tolerance, as well as endeavours to reduce hatred and wars among civilisationns and peoples and their humanitarian impacts on societies. IPI President praised the deputy premier's interest in the various activities held by IPI for the sake of promoting the culture of peace, being crucial for security and stability in the region and the world.
