ERC begins 'Zayed's Legacy to Support Yemeni People' campaign

ADEN, 22nd August, 2017 (WAM) -- The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) has begun executing the activities that are part of the 'Zayed's Legacy to Support Yemeni People' campaign yesterday.
It is part of the efforts being made by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to support the brotherly Yemeni people and follows the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to support the families of the martyrs and the wounded for their sacrifices in the war to defend their land. The campaign coincides with Eid Al Adha.
Mohammed Al Ketbi, Director of ERC in Aden, met with several traders today, who will be entrusted the task of providing the sacrificial animals and the Eid clothes to the families of the martyrs and the wounded.
Al Ketbi stressed the efforts to speed up the distribution of Eid sacrifices to the families of the martyrs and the wounded in the governorates of Aden, Lahij, Abyan, Al Dhale, Taiz and Mocha, whose number is estimated to be in the thousands.
He pointed out that one of the ready-made clothes centres was chosen as a shopping centre through which the families could receive the Eid clothes after being given the ERC shopping coupon, which carries the campaign's name 'Zayed's Legacy to Support Yemeni People'.
He clarified that the ERC had co-ordinated with one of the traders in the city of Al-Mansoura regarding the sacrifices. The distribution to the families will begin in the coming week.
The 'Zayed's Legacy to Support Yemeni People' campaign was launched yesterday and will continue until the third day of Eid Al Adha, coinciding with another campaign titled "Their Happiness is our Eid," which will be executed in 67 countries around the world and will benefit more than 215,000 people.
