Erdogan, Putin And Raisi To Meet Tomorrow In Tehran On Syria
Istanbul (NINA) - The leaders of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Russia's Vladimir Putin, and Iran's Ibrahim Raisi plan to hold a meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, in the Iranian capital, Tehran, to discuss the Syrian file.
The summit that will take place in Tehran tomorrow, Tuesday, is the first face-to-face "meeting" between the presidents of Turkey, Iran and Russia in two years, while it constitutes a prominent event, due to considerations related to its synchronization with a series of regional and global developments.
According to the Turkish media, the leaders of the three countries will mainly discuss the Syrian file, in a step that has been repeated over the past years, the last of which was in June 2020, through a video conference, in addition to discussing other issues related to their commercial dealings and the position of each party regarding what is happening at the regional level and the world, especially in Ukraine, which has been experiencing a Russian war, since the twenty-fourth of last February.
On Sunday, the Turkish presidency announced that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will make an official visit to the Iranian capital, Tehran, on July 18-19, at the invitation of its President Ibrahim Raisi.
The Turkish presidency said in a statement that Erdogan and Iranian president will chair, on Tuesday, the seventh meeting of the Turkish-Iranian High-Level Cooperation Council, in which relevant ministers from both countries will participate, where the will discuss Turkish-Iranian relations in all its aspects, and ways to develop bilateral cooperation.
It is expected that the Turkish president, along with his Iranian and Russian counterparts, Vladimir Putin, will participate in the seventh edition of the tripartite summit within the framework of the Astana process on the Syrian file and efforts related to a political solution in Syria./End
