Family Gives Consent To Malaysian Government To Manage Kim-Jong Nam's Body - Deputy IGP
SHAH ALAM (Selangor, Malaysia), March 17 (Bernama) -- The family of Kim Jong-nam, a North Korean who was killed at the KL International Airport 2 (klia2) last month, has given their consent to the Malaysian government to manage his body.
Malaysian Deputy Inspector-General of Police Noor Rashid Ibrahim, however, declined to comment further on when and where the consent was given.
"I was made to understand that they (the family) are leaving it to our government to manage it (body)...so we will do that," he told a press conference here Thursday.
Jong-nam, the estranged brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, was allegedly killed by two foreign women who wiped his face with VX nerve agent while he was waiting to board a flight to Macau.
Jong-nam, who had a passport bearing the name of Kim Chol, died while being rushed to Putrajaya Hospital.
The two women - Siti Aisyah, 25, from Indonesia and Doan Thi Huong, 29, from Vietnam - had been charged in the Sepang Magistrate's Court on March 1.
Noor Rashid said the investigation into the murder was done according to the strict international protocol with four remaining suspects to be brought to justice.
