Filipinos Champs In Sungai Menyala Forest Trail 2017
PORT DICKSON (Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia) April 10 (Bernama) -- Filipino runners came out tops in the men and women's categories of the 50km run in the 'Sungai Menyala Forest Trail 2017' held at the Sungai Menyala Forest Reserve, Sungai Menyala Eco-Edutourism Centre here Sunday.
In the men's category, Monolito Lipig Divina won after clocking 4 hours 27 minutes 30 seconds while Steven Ong of Malaysia was second (4:53:63s) and Arief Wismoyono of Indonesia third (5:5:31s).
In the women's category, Sandi Menchi C. Abahan posted 5 hours 25 minutes 48 seconds to clinch the title. Malaysia's Jassica Lintanga was second in 5:25:38s and Jeradine Alexis Chua Chin Chin of Singapore third (6:35:49s).
Three other categories were also offered namely the 10km and 25km runs and 'Kids Dash' for children aged seven to 12.
Some 350 runners from Malaysia, Brunei, Canada, Spain, France, Britain, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand took part in the event aimed at promoting eco-tourism in Negeri Sembilan.
Sungai Menyala Forest Trail is listed in the 'Asia Trail Master' circuit.
