Floods Affect 748,000 People In Western Pakistan

Islamabad, Sept 26, IRNA -- Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has said that 748,000 people of fifteen districts have been affected in Western Balochistan province, local media reported on Tuesday.
According to the PDMA initial report the districts hit by rains, flood include Zhob, Lora Lai, Qila, Saifullah, Harnai, Lasbela, Khazdar, Jaffarabad, Dera Bugti.
682 villages were completely destroyed while 5,000 livestock were swept away.
Crops over 300,000 acres of land has been destroyed. According to an estimate, 51 people were killed due to torrential rains and flood.
Pakistan suffered the worst flooding in its 65-year history in 2010. Floodwaters inundated one-fifth of the country and killed over 1,700 people. Over 20 million people were affected./end
