Global Turbine Asia To Invest US$11.29 Million For Manufacturing Facility In Malaysia's Subang

KUALA LUMPUR, March 21 (Bernama) -- Aerospace maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) company, Global Turbine Asia Sdn Bhd (GTA), will invest US$11.29 million (RM50 million) to build a new manufacturing facility at the Malaysia's Subang Aerospace Park. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Nonee Ashirin Mohd Radzi said the facility, to be fully completed in 2019, was in line with the company's intention to expand activities for M88 engines tools and aircraft parts manufacturing. "We are investing RM50 million in the facility's infrastructure, machinery, equipment as well as on training," she said in a statement at the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) here Tuesday. Nonee Ashirin said the facility will create job opportunities and has received significant support from key institutional bodies such as the Malaysian Industrial Development Authority, National Aerospace Industry Coordinating Office, Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation and Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd. "The GTA manufacturing facility is proof that we have the capacity and capability to make our mark in the aerospace industry. "The aerospace industry in Malaysia is projected to contribute total revenue of US$12.46 billion (RM55.2 billion) to the economy by 2030, when we also hope to realise our aspiration of the country becoming Southeast Asia's aerospace hub," she added. The facility preview was officiated by International Trade and Industry Minister, Mustapa Mohamed in Langkawi island (in Malaysia's northern state Kedah) on Tuesday. --BERNAMA
