KAZINFORM - Heads of the CIS news agencies will convene in Kazakhstan in June 2014, Director General of the Belarusian Telegraph Agency (BelTA) Dmitry Zhuk confirmed. "Regular session of the heads of the CIS news agencies is likely to take place in Kazakhstan in late June. This organization is quite effective as it allows the heads of the news agencies to work closely together," Mr. Zhuk said. D. Zhuk also noted joint information projects for those interested in life in the neighboring countries should be launched within the CIS news agencies' council. In his words, such projects will help develop ties between the CIS member states that have weakened over the past 20 years. Note: The council unites news agencies of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, and Tajikistan.
