High-efficient Farm Machines Manufactured in DPRK

Pyongyang, December 31 (KCNA) -- A number of high-efficient and modern farm machines were manufactured during the 200-day campaign in the DPRK, challenging big efforts into realizing the comprehensive mechanization of agriculture. The newly-developed farm machines were exhibited at the 43rd National Farm Machine Exhibition and Contrivers' Meeting. Prof. and Dr. Pak Man Song of the Farm Machine Institute under the Ministry of Agriculture told KCNA: The farm machines displayed in the exhibition are put on a comprehensive and multi-purpose basis, and they are manpower-saving and water-saving ones suited to the topographical conditions and constitutional character of Koreans. Among them are manpower-saving threshing machines and water-saving soil-managing machines. A comprehensive, mobile maize thresher made by the Farm Machine Station in Unpha County, North Hwanghae Province can raise the threshing capacity five times compared with the existing ones and save 60 percent of manpower and 20 percent of electric power, while doing selection and package. Jong Son, department director of the Ministry of Agriculture, said: The newly-manufactured farm machines are high-efficient and modern ones. 10 odd kinds of farm machines have been introduced in co-op farms. Those machines are the fruit of the self-development principle of the technicians and agricultural workers. -0-
