ICCEIB Best Platform To Improve Knowledge, Expertise On Food, Water And Energy Resources

MELAKA (Malaysia), Nov 30 (Bernama) -- The International Conference of Chemical Engineering & Industrial Biotechnology (ICCEIB) 2016 is the best platform to improve knowledge and expertise on the ecosystem in a bid to maintain the sustainability of three main resources - food, water and energy. Universiti Malaysia Pahang vice-chancellor Prof Dr Daing Nasir Ibrahim said this was because the ICCEIB 2016 was capable of becoming a strategic discourse for academicians, scientists and researchers, including from the United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates and Indonesia, hence creating a high-impact industrial network. "Every component in the earth ecosystem is interdependent. Therefore, efforts to preserve the environment should be implemented by all quarters so that the future generation will be able to enjoy the main resources comfortably. "It is hoped that the conference will contribute towards continuous effort in tackling and solving problems associated with food, energy and water resources," he said at the opening of the ICCEIB 2016, here on Tuesday. Approximately 200 academicians, researchers and policy-makers are attending the three-day conference, which began Monday. The ICCEIB 2016 aims, among others, to provide a platform to the academic scientists and researchers to exchange and share their experience in Chemical and Industrial Technology through presentation and publication mechanism and also to highlight the technological application experiences for the food, energy and water concerns towards commercialisation and wealth generation for the nation. --BERNAMA
