Independence Day Exhibition
Almaty, December 15, 2009 (Khabar) - The museum of history in Almaty witnessed an exhibition devoted to the 18th anniversary of independence of the country. The exhibition presented pictures and photos depicting the development of Kazakhstan during its years of independence as well as national musical instruments and memorabilia. The tapestry called Baiterek is highly prized by the student Karlygash Kusman, who said that it is her best work and required 2 months and a lot of yarn. Samat Kusayinov observes the world from behind a camera lens. He has been taking pictures of the countryside, people and events for many years, since for him it is a kind of chronicle of Kazakhstan’s modern history. The exhibition was also visited by the famous sculptor and creator of the monument of Independence, Adlet Zhumabai, as well as the people’s artiste of Kazakhstan Sara Tynyshtygulova, who was the first singer of the “Menin yelim” song.
Sara Tynyshtygulova, people’s artist of RK:
- Gaining independence represented great happiness for our people and our state. The fact that we are living in a peaceful and friendly country is a big achievement and that is why I am always happy with every single day. I feel like I’m flying when I’m singing.
The exhibition also involves national instruments made by young craftsmen, as well as statuettes of the monument of Independence and the Baiterek.
