Iran FM: Gov't Trying To Resolve Problems Of Quake-hit Areas

Harees, East Azarbaijan prov, Sept 10, IRNA – Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said Monday that the government is seriously following up the problems facing the provincial people following the last month killer quake. Visiting the quake stricken areas in this northwestern province, Salehi said the Iranian government is making all-out efforts to solve the existing problems facing the people in quake-hit areas and expressed hope that the reconstruction operations of the quake-stricken regions will be completed soon. On August 11, a strong earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale hit Harees, Varzaqan and Ahar in the northwestern province of East Azarbaijan which left over 300 dead and several thousands of wounded./end
