Iran FM meets Tajik president

Dushanbe, March 30, IRNA – Visiting Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi in a meeting with Tajik President Emomali Rakhmon here on Friday, called for further expansion of Tehran-Dushanbe cooperation. The meeting was held on the sidelines of 11th ministerial meeting of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) in the Tajik capital. Referring to Iran-Tajikistan religious and cultural commonalities, Salehi and Rakhmon called for reinforcing all-out ties between the two nations. The 11th ministerial meeting of the ACD opened in Dushanbe today. Established in 2002, the ACD seeks to promote Asian cooperation at a continental level and to help integrate separate regional cooperation organizations. The 10th ACD ministerial meeting was held in Kuwait in October 2011.
