Iran-Russia ties, effective in regional stability- Larijani

Tehran, Sept 1, IRNA – Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said Friday evening that Iran-Russia growing relations will be effective in bringing peace and stability to the region. In a meeting with Konstantin Shuvalov, Russian President Vladimir Putin’s representative to the Tehran NAM summit, held on August 26-31, Larijani said Tehran and Moscow share common interest in the international arenas. He added the two countries' parliaments can also play influential roles in promotion of bilateral cooperation in various fields. Larijani reiterated that Tehran will use all its capacities to boost brotherly ties with Moscow. For his part, Russia's special envoy described Iran's diplomacy regarding international issues as effective and constructive. Referring to the critical situation in Syria, Shuvalov called for diplomatic dialogue as a proper solution to the existing problem facing the Syrian nation.
