JCorp Launches Middle East Conflict Humanitarian Fund

JOHOR BAHRU (Johor, Malaysia), Jan 11 (Bernama) -- Johor Corporation (JCorp) through Mutiara Johor Corporation (MJC), in collaboration with Mercy Malaysia on Tuesday launched the Middle East Conflict Humanitarian Fund 2017. MJC chairman, Noor Laila Yahaya said the fund was aimed at collecting donations, which would be channelled to those affected by the conflicts in Syria, Palestine and Yemen. "Until now, we have collected US$46,919 (RM210,000). We have not set any target but contributions can be made not later than Feb 28. "All donations will be handed over to Mercy Malaysia for the purchase of medicines and medical equipment as well as to support the health service programmes held there," she said at the launch of the fund, here, Tuesday. Present were JCorp chief executive Kamaruzzaman Abu Kassim and Mercy Malaysia chairman Dr Ahmad Faizal Mohd Perdaus. Donation boxes will be placed at several business premises under JCorp's management such as KOMTAR JBCC, Galleria@Kotaraya, Larkin Sentral Terminal, Puteri Pacific Hotel, An-Nur JCorp mosques and at selected KPJ Healthcare hospitals.
