KL Hospital Completes Post-Mortem On Remains Of North Korean Man

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 16 (Bernama) -- The post-mortem on the remains of the North Korean man reported to be the estranged half-brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, has been completed. Sepang District Police chief ACP Abdul Aziz Ali confirmed the matter when met by reporters at the National Institute of Forensic Medicine, Kuala Lumpur Hospital at 7.50pm Wednesday. It is understood that the post-mortem on the man identified by his passport as Kim Chol, who died here on Monday, was completed at 7.30pm. Abdul Aziz declined to reveal any detail on the cause of death or when the remains would be claimed from the hospital. Four vehicles from the North Korean Embassy in Malaysia were also seen leaving the premises at 8pm. (picture) About 50 local and foreign journalists began gathering at the compound of the forensic unit as early as 9am Wednesday hoping to get further information on the case. Inspector-General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar said Tuesday that the North Korean tried to seek help at the customer service counter at KL International Airport 2. The man's passport stated that he was born in Pyongyang on June 10, 1970. Foreign media had reported that Kim Chol was actually Kim Jong-nam, an elder half-brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
