Lao Preparatory Committee for Asia-Europe People’s Forum appointed

VIENTIANE,01.19.2012 (KPL)- Lao Government has appointed a National Organising Committee for Preparatory the Host of the 9th Asia-Europe People’s Forum on 18-19 October 2012, to determine the responsibilities of each sub-committee. The appointment was made at the revised agenda of the preparatory meeting, at the International Cooperation Training Centre, on 18 January. The meeting drew more than 100 officials from Foreign Institute, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lao Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), Private Organisations and Non-Government Organisations to discuss roadmaps and the preparatory procedure of the 9th Asia-Europe People’s Forum (AEPF). The National Organizing Committee is to implement on the Asia-Europe People Forum Charter. The AEPF is out of three main events that will be opened for public. All qualified people, including researchers, experts from NGOs, other Research Institutes of the Asia and Europe will be invited to share opinions on the 9th AEPF and then it will be proposed to their governments. The meeting was co-chaired by the President of World Peace Organization, Mr Khamphanh Simmalavong and Director General of Foreign Institute, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mrs Khamphao Eunthavanh.
