Malaysia: Penang Hot Air Balloon Fiesta Returns In Feb

GEORGE TOWN (Penang, Malaysia), Jan 10 (Bernama) -- The Penang Hot Air Balloon Fiesta featuring several international balloonists and special shaped balloons returns for the third consecutive year at Padang Polo here, next month. Chief Executive Officer of AKA Balloon Sdn Bhd, Izzati Khairudin said the two-day fiesta will be held on Feb 4 and 5, featuring balloonists from the Netherlands, Belgium, Brazil, Japan, Philippines and Thailand. "Here’s another chance for you to float above Padang Polo on a huge hot air balloon from 7am to 9.30pm and the highlight of the event is 15 colourful hot air balloons displayed during the morning and evening sessions. "There will also be 'Night Glow' shows featuring 10 balloons lighted up with music and light accompaniment to fascinate spectators," she said in a press conference here, today. Izzati said there will be loads of fun and excitement in store for all ages, with free entrance into the event grounds. She said over the two-day event, ticketed tethered balloon rides will be available where one can go up as high as 18 metres.
