Malaysian Army Improves 'Mast' To Strengthen Management System

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 7 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Army will improve the existing 'Malaysian Army Standard' (MASt) to strengthen its system and procedural management to be more systematic and effective. Army Chief, Gen Zulkiple Kassim said six aspects would be featured in the new MASt including those concerning the main honour guard services, vehicle management, logistics management and the management of documentation on termination of members' services. "MASt will be used as the guideline for the management of the Army in efforts to improve service quality and it is expected to be launched in March," he told reporters after the 26th Army Chief's Outstanding Command Parade here Saturday. The first phase of MASt which was launched in June 2016 covered three aspects namely the management of the armoury, the management of entry into and exit from military camps, and the management of the dining hall at the Dining Complex. Commenting on the floods faced by several states currently, Zulkiple said the Army always monitored current developments during the floods season especially in Kelantan and Terengganu. He said that 2,000 personnel were deployed to the affected areas to assist the flood victims. At the event, he also introduced the new slogan for the Army namely "The Army Is One, Because of Unity" to replace the slogan "The Army Is Strongly Ready, ATM is Glorious ATM is Courageous. -- BERNAMA
