Malaysia's PM Najib Officiates New Malaysian High Commission Complex In New Delhi

From D. Arul Rajoo NEW DELHI, April 5 (Bernama) -- Malaysia's Prime Minister Najib Razak on Tuesday officiated the new Malaysian High Commission complex here. Accompanied by his wife Rosmah Mansor, Najib (right) signed the plaque to commemorate the official opening of the complex which cost RM121 million (US$1 = RM4.43) and was completed in June, 2015 after 28 months of construction. Also present were High Commissioner to India Hidayat Abdul Hamid, Transport Minister Liow Tiong Lai, Works Minister Fadillah Yusof and Special Envoy to South Asia for Infrastructure S. Samy Vellu. The complex, situated on a two-hectare land in the diplomatic enclave of the capital and built by Dhaya Maju Infrastructure Asia Sdn Bhd, comprises four blocks, which include an office, a multi purpose hall, the high commissioner's residence and a 20-unit apartment for staff. Najib described the High Commission complex as one of the best Malaysian missions overseas. Previously, staff of the high commission stayed outside, and with the completion of the new building, officials from other Malaysian agencies such as MIDA amd Matrade are also operating from here.
