Malaysia's Syria Care Ramadan Campaign From Jan 17 To June 24

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 19 (Bernama) -- Syria Care Malaysia (Syria Care) will continue its campaign to collect funds in preparation for the fasting month of Ramadan. It runs from Jan 17 to June 24. In a statement issued here Wednesday, Syria Care said its campaign which was held annually and named the Ramadan Al-Khair 5.0 Campaign (#KRAK5) was meant to help the people in Syria who needed humanitarian aid. "The aid mission will be conducted with the cooperation of the non-governmental organisations (NGO) in Syria. "Through the same campaign held last year, the #KRAK4, we were able to send about US$739,222 (RM3.3 million) in aid collected from the Malaysian public to Syria, the Syrian refugee camps in Lebanon and Turkey." The statement said more than 227,000 people benefited from the collection last year which was given through various projects on education, food supply, daily essentials, medicine, and aid for orphans in Syria. -- BERNAMA
