Media Prima To Broadcast Quality Content From China

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 24 (Bernama) -- Media Prima Television Network's 8TV will collaborated with China Intercontinental Communication Centre (CICC) to bring quality content from China to the Malaysian audience. Media Prima Chief Executive Officer Kamal Khalid said the long-term cooperation kicked off with a nationwide primetime broadcast of a nine episode documentary programme called USilk on 8TV, which centred on Chinese culture. "Part of the understanding (Memorandum of Understanding) is that we're able to look at other things as well such as co-production, exchange of talent, technology and others. "This (USilk) is basically the first step (to future collaboration)," he told reporters here Tuesday after signing the MoU on behalf of Media Prima and CICC, which was representd by its Vice-President Jing Shuiqing. USilk, to be aired every Sunday at 6.30 pm was produced by CICC and its international cooperative partners. The programme would be the first of many quality content to provide Malaysians the opportunity to learn about China. Established in Beijing in December 1993, CICC is a comprehensive international cultural communication agency specialising in audiovisual programme production, communication and Internet new media. Media Prima TV Networks operates Malaysia' four leading free to-air television stations namely TV3, TV9 (popular amongst young fresh mass Malays), as well as 8TV and ntv7 (the leading channels for the Chinese and Urban demographics). --BERNAMA
