Meeting of coordinating council of General Prosecutors of CIS

Astana, December 04, 2009 (Khabar) - The strengthening of international cooperation between law enforcement bodies of CIS countries, in particular, prosecutors were discussed at the session of the Coordinating Council of General Prosecutors of CIS. It was attended by the heads of prosecutors' offices of Kazakhstan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Ukraine. They have discussed the protection of the rights of citizens outside their country, combating transnational crimes such as money laundering, illegal migration and human trafficking. At the end of the meting they have signed several documents, including agreement on cooperation in combating human trafficking, selling of human organs and tissues. The General Prosecutor Kairat Mami has commented on situation relating to the case of the Deputy Chief of Financial Police of Almaty, Aidyn Zhanteleyev. Criminal proceeding was stopped because of absence of crime in actions of Zhanteleyev. At the same time a criminal case against officials of national security, who arrested him is begun. Cases are passed for investigation to the main military government of the Interior Ministry.
