MOEHE Holds Seminar for School Administrators in Preparation for International PISA Test

Doha, February 16 (QNA) - The Department of Students Assessment at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE) held virtual seminars for candidate test administrators and IT technicians in schools participating in the Program for International Student Assessment known as PISA. Students from government, private and international schools in the State of Qatar will participate in the program, as well as community schools, starting from March until April 19 of 2022. The main themes of the two-day seminar, which was organized by the international assessments' section at the ministry's Department of Students Assessments, were centered around two aspects. The first aspect was administrative, as it included all internationally standardized administrative procedures for testing in schools, while the second aspect was technical (for the application of the test), considering that it is applied electronically in the country. The PISA test includes questions in four subjects: mathematics, science, reading and creative thinking, and the focus will be on the field of mathematics in 2022 - targeting students who are 15 years old and registered in any school in Qatar. Represented by the Department of Students Assessments, MOEHE implements three international tests in the State of Qatar, which are in addition to the Program for International Student Assessment (PISA), the Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS), and the Progress in International Reading Literacy Study (PIRLS).
